Access to NOVASIS from International Countries

Overview

Services provided through NOVASIS are accessible only while located in the United States. For Villanova community members trying to access NOVASIS while outside the country, Technology Services recommends either installing and connecting to GlobalProtect, Villanova's Virtual Private Network (VPN), or accessing NOVASIS through vDesktop, Villanova's virtual desktop technology. GlobalProtect and vDesktop allow users to access region-locked resources via any computer with an internet connection.

Instructions

Accessing NOVASIS through GlobalProtect

1. Download and install GlobalProtect VPN.

2. Sign in to GlobalProtect.

  • Select the GlobalProtect globe icon from your computer's system tray.
  • Enter vpn.villanova.edu as the portal. Click connect.
  • Sign in with your Villanova credentials.
  • Verify that you are connected successfully.

3. Once you are connected to GlobalProtect, go to mynova.villanova.edu.

4. In the search bar at the top of the page, enter the task you'd like to do (e.g. registration, new student checklist, view grades, submit grades, access class list).
 Select the task from the results.

5. Sign in to NOVASIS with your Villanova credentials.

6. To disconnect from GlobalProtect after you're finished, select GlobalProtect from your computer's system tray, then click Disconnect.

Accessing NOVASIS through vDesktop (Apporto)
  1. Go to villanova.apporto.com and click Log In, then sign in with your Villanova credentials.
  1. Launch the virtual desktop:

  1. Once the desktop loads, open any browser and go to mynova.villanova.edu.

  1. In the search bar at the top of the page, enter the task you'd like to do (e.g. registration, new student checklist, view grades, submit grades, access class list). Select the task from the results.
  2. Sign in to NOVASIS with your Villanova credentials.
  3. When you're finished, you can end your vDesktop session in one of three ways:
  • Right-click the Windows Start icon and choose Sign Out.  
  • Click the Windows Start icon and choose the Profile icon with your name, then Sign Out. 
  • You can also click the Windows Start menu and choose Power/Disconnect.
