To disable these settings for campus networks, please follow the instructions below. You can leave it on for any other Wi-Fi network.
Disable iCloud Private Relay on Select Wi-Fi Networks
On iPhone/iPad (iOS/iPadOS)
- Navigate to Settings → Wi-Fi
- Tap the ⓘ next to VUMobile or VUGuest
- Turn off Limit IP Address Tracking (also disables iCloud Private Relay)*
- Turn off Private Wi-Fi Address (if issues persist)
- Toggle Wi-Fi off/on and rejoin
On Mac (macOS)
- Navigate to System Settings → Wi-Fi
- Click Details/ⓘ for VUMobile or VUGuest
- Turn off Limit IP Address Tracking (also disables iCloud Private Relay)*
- Turn off Private Wi-Fi Address (if issues persist)
- Turn Wi-Fi off/on and rejoin
*If you turn off Limit IP Address Tracking for a Wi-Fi network on your iPhone, iCloud Private Relay is turned off for this network across all your devices where you’re signed in to the same Apple Account.
If you continue to see access blocks while off of campus, you may need to disable iCloud Private Relay entirely.
Disable iCloud Private Relay
On iPhone/iPad (iOS/iPadOS)
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on your name at the top to access Apple ID settings.
- Tap iCloud.
- Tap Private Relay.
- Toggle Private Relay off.
On Mac (macOS)
- Click the Apple in the upper-left of your screen, then select Settings.
- Click your name at the top of the sidebar to access Apple ID settings.
- If you don’t see your name, click Sign in, enter your Apple Account email address or phone number, then enter your password.
- Click iCloud.
- Click Private Relay.
- Toggle Private Relay off.
- Click Done.
