Description
Keep ample storage free on your system to ensure it runs as effectively as possible, including performing necessary system updates and allowing core University applications to be installed.
Audience
Faculty, Staff, and students who use a Villanova-issued Windows PC.
Freeing Up Disk Space
- Windows provides a storage settings applet that will help clean up disk space on your system. In the Search bar on your device, type "storage settings." Click the Open button.
- Windows will run a scan of common locations and provide insight into where you may be able to free up space.
- Click on one of the options to see where larger sets of data are located. For example, click the Other folder option to view files outside of the common Windows folders.
- Click the Temporarily Files option in the Storage screen to locate temp files in common Windows folders. Select and Remove files as needed.
