How to Sign Up for NOVA Alert (Villanova Community Members)

Overview

Learn how to sign up to receive notifications for NOVA Alert, Villanova's emergency notification system, as a current student or employee. NOVA Alert delivers important emergency alerts, notifications, and updates to any mobile device or email you choose to register. When an incident or emergency occurs, authorized senders will notify you using NOVA Alert. 

Requirements

You must have a Villanova user account as a current student or employee to sign up for NOVA Alert. In the near future, parents and the University community/visitors may sign up to receive alerts. 

Instructions for Signing Up 

1. Log in to NOVASIS by clicking the button above.
2. On the "Nova Alert Destinations and Email Contacts" page, select "Add an Alert Device and Email".
3. Enter your information for the following: 
   1. 5 (TEXT) SMS phone numbers
   2. 6 (VOICE) phone numbers for messages
   3. 2 email addresses
   4. 1 (SPEECH/HEARING, IMPAIRED) TTY device.
4. Once you have added your information, select "Submit Changes". 
   1. Note: Your information will be added to NOVA Alert within two hours. 

Instructions for Updates 

1. Log in to NOVASIS by clicking the button above.
2. On the "Nova Alert Destinations and Email Contacts" page, select "Update/Delete Alert Devices" on the device you would like to update.
3. Update your information for the device:
   
4. Once you have updated your information, select "Submit Changes". 
   1. Note: Your information will be updated in NOVA Alert within two hours.
