Brightspace: Use OneNote Class Notebook in Brightspace

Learn how to add OneNote Class Notebook to a Brightspace course through the Microsoft Education external tool so you can share materials, assign activities, review student work, and support asynchronous collaboration.

OneNote Class Notebook allows for collaboration and sharing of materials and assignments through OneNote, which includes activities like providing readings and handouts, assigning activities, reviewing student work, and facilitating asynchronous collaboration between students.

Using OneNote Class Notebook in Brightspace

1. Navigate to the Unit/Lesson/Folder (Module) where you want to add the Class Notebook.
2. Click "Add Existing", click "External Tool Activity", and then click "Microsoft Education". 
   
   
   This will add a "Microsoft Education" link within that Unit/Lesson/Folder (Module).
   You can rename this "Microsoft Education" link if you would like.
3. Click on the "Microsoft Education" link within your Unit/Lesson/Folder.
   
   
   
   Follow the steps on the screen - click "Continue Setup", select which Microsoft Apps you want available to your students (e.g. if you want them to just access "Class Notebook"), click "Done".
   
   
    
4. Click "Class Notebook" within your Unit/Lesson/Folder and setup your Class Notebook activities by following the instructions on the screen.  Learn more about OneNote Class Notebook
