Body

Course

An academic offering defined by a subject code and course number (e.g., ACS 1000). Courses may have multiple sections in a term.

Section

A specific instance of a course offered in a given term, identified by a CRN.

Course Reference Number (CRN)

A unique system-generated identifier for a specific course section in a given term; used for registration and scheduling. 

Combined Section

Sections that meet together but retain separate CRNs (may or may not be cross-listed). Combined sections are assigned to the same faculty, meeting pattern and classroom.
