Listen to Pasted Text with ReadSpeaker TextAid

Learn how to paste text into ReadSpeaker TextAid and use its playback controls to hear the text read aloud and adjust the reading experience.

Overview

This article provides instructions on how to paste text into ReadSpeaker TextAid and listen to it read aloud.

Instructions

1. Open ReadSpeaker TextAid from Brightspace.  (Go to brightspace.villanova.edu and select ReadSpeaker TextAid under Villanova Resources)
2. Open the text area in TextAid.
3. Copy the text you want to hear from a document, webpage, email, or other source.
4. Paste the text into the TextAid text area.
5. Click Listen or select the play button to begin reading the text aloud.
6. Use the available controls to:
   • Pause or resume reading 
   • Adjust the reading speed 
   • Change the reading voice
7. Edit, replace, or remove the pasted text as needed.
