Authentication: Your Account is Blocked

Body

You may see a “Your account is blocked” message when signing in to a Villanova University service. As mentioned in the Protecting Your Villanova Account article, a Villanova Account may be blocked when Villanova’s security systems detect indicators such as a sign-in from an unusual location, device, or network. When this occurs, to protect your account and University information, access to Villanova systems is temporarily blocked until you reset your password.

What You May See

Resolution

Reset your Villanova Account password:

  1. Go to the Villanova Account password reset page
  2. Follow the prompts to verify your identity.
  3. Create a new, unique password that you do not use for other accounts.
  4. Return to the Villanova service you were trying to access.
  5. Sign in using your new password.

If your Villanova password is saved in a browser, password manager, email application, or mobile device, update it there as well. Applications that continue using your previous password may repeatedly attempt to sign in.

Still Unable to Sign In?
