This article details how to use Brightspace on mobile, including information about the Pulse app. 

 

Instructions

  • Download Brightspace Pulse App (Apple App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android).  Open the App and search for "Villanova University."
    Or, on your mobile browser go to: https://brightspace.villanova.edu).
  • There might be parts of your Brightspace course where content will open in your mobile web browser on rather than remaining within Pulse App.  
    The Brightspace Pulse app is best used as a companion tool to the website.

  • Pulse works well for:

    • Viewing Notifications
    • Viewing Calendar
    • Viewing Grades
    • Viewing Files uploaded into a Course

Your Mobile Browser (https://brightspace.villanova.edu) works well for:

    • Viewing Pages
    • Submitting Assignments
    • Taking Quizzes
    • Viewing Notifications
    • Viewing Calendar
    • Viewing Grades
    • Viewing Files uploaded into a Course
  • Finally, while Brightspace is accessible from mobile devices (smartphones or tablets), instructors and students should not use a mobile device as their only technology option. A laptop or desktop with access to high-speed broadband Internet is required. Please adhere to the following web browser and device requirements provided by D2L-Brightspace.

D2L-Brightspace will be Villanova University's new learning management system (LMS) for all courses starting with the Summer 2026 semester and can be accessed at brightspace.villanova.edu.
