How to Prepare for your AT&T to Verizon Mobile Device Migration (Remote Users)

Ensure your old iPhone is fully backed up to iCloud before starting.

• Go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup

• Confirm that the backup completed successfully.

  • If you do not have enough iCloud storage to back up your device, you can use temporary iCloud storage​​​. If you go back into Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup, it will show the process of the free storage backup and show up under "Temporary Backups" when completed.​

• Once the backup is complete, turn off your old iPhone. This is required so the new device can activate properly. You will receive a message that the new device was assigned to your cell number, with the old iPhone switched from AT&T to SOS once you power it back up.

• Power on your new iPhone

• Follow the on-screen setup prompts to complete the initial configuration (Apple ID, Villanova Account login, restore from iCloud backup, etc.)

After setting up your new iPhone, configure Duo for authentication.

• The Duo Mobile app should already be installed (either via iCloud restore or the Villanova device management system)

• Follow the Duo enrollment steps

Important:
If your old iPhone was previously used for Duo Push authentication, you may be prompted to approve Duo enrollment.

• Power your old iPhone back on

• Connect it to Wi-Fi

• Approve the Duo prompt as needed

Once Duo is fully configured on your new phone, the old device is no longer required.
