Overview

This article contains instructions for connecting to VUConnect on Linux devices.

Instructions

  1. Ensure you are already connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you are on campus, connect to VUGuest or eduroam.
  2. Go to vuconnect.villanova.edu, then confirm that your operating system was identified correctly. If it wasn't, use the Select your device drop-down to change it.

  1. Click Register Your Device to download the certificate.
  2. Your system will download the SHELL SCRIPT. When finished, go to your Downloaded items and run the application using the following command: sh SecureW2_JoinNow.run

Note: Run as normal user, not root/sudo.

  1. Click Next to launch your browser and sign in.

  1. You'll be directed to a Microsoft login page in your browser. Enter your userid@villanova.edu, then click Next.

  1. Enter your password, then click Sign in.

  1. When prompted, approve the sign in request in Microsoft Authenticator.

  1. The client will enroll and issue the certificate, configure your device, connect to the network and authenticate. Once complete, close the sign in window.

  1. Your device will connect to VUConnect automatically.
