Mediasite: Download your presentation

Overview

Download and save copies of your Mediasite presentations to view your content offline and retain materials you want to keep beyond the University's data retention period. Mediasite allows users to download Podcasts (.MP3 audio files) and/or Vodcasts (composited .MP4 video files).

Step 3 of 3: Allow your presentation to process, then download a copy

1. After your vodcast and/or podcast downloads finish processing, single-click the Downloads link that is now available in the right-hand navigation bar under Edit Security.


2. When the Downloads pop-up window appears, click the link for either Vodcast (.mp4 Vodcast) or Audio (.mp3 Podcast) to download locally to your device.

Known Issues & Troubleshooting

• Bulk Downloads: Mediasite does not currently allow bulk downloads. If you have a deadline to meet, please allow yourself ample time to back up your content.
• Permissions: Only the owner of a Mediasite presentation can enable it for download.
• Processing Wait Time: The time required to process your download depends on the server's current workload and the length and graphic complexity of your presentation. If you click the "Downloads" button and do not see any available files, it means your download is still in progress.
• Vodcast Appearance: If your Mediasite presentation contains both a camera feed and a screen share feed, the video will download as a composite file, meaning that both feeds will be displayed side-by-side at equal size on the screen. Toggling back and forth between feeds is only possible when viewing a presentation hosted on Mediasite.
