Network: Find the IP Address of My Device

The method to find the IP address of your device depends on the type of device and the operating system it is running. Here are common ways to find the IP address for different devices:

Windows:

  1. Open the Command Prompt by pressing Win + R, typing cmd, and hitting Enter
  2. In the Command Prompt window, type ipconfig and press Enter
  3. Look for the "IPv4 Address" under the network connection you are using.

Mac:

  1. Open the Terminal application from the Applications > Utilities folder.
  2. Type ifconfig and press Enter
  3. Look for the network interface you are using (usually under "en0" or "en1" for Wi-Fi) and find the "inet" address

Linux:

  1. Open a terminal.
