Mediasite: Create your MyMediasite Account

A valid Mediasite account is required to view a majority of the content hosted on Mediasite. Please be sure to have your Villanova University email address and current password ready before you start the creation of your Mediasite account.

Create your MyMediasite Account

1. Open a new internet browser window and navigate to Villanova's MyMediasite portal: https://vums-web.villanova.edu/mediasite/mymediasite/

2. Login via Villanova's single sign-on by entering your Villanova email and current password.

3. You should now be logged into your MyMediasite account home page (see image below) and are now able to begin viewing and creating content.

 

Change your Profile Settings

After you've created your MyMediasite account, please navigate to your profile settings and confirm that your Display Name and Email Address are entered correctly:

1. Single-click on the teal square with your initials in the top-right corner of your MyMediasite homepage, and select “My Settings” from the drop down menu that appears.

2. Review your personal information closely and make any necessary changes - we strongly recommend that you align your profile information with the best practices guidelines below to ensure an optimal user experience:

  • In the "Display Name" field, omit any titles before your first name (i.e. Ms/r., Dr., etc.) and/or nicknames so that your profile can be easily found when faculty or colleagues need to share a presentation with you.
  • In the "Email Address" field, use your UserID@villanova.edu email. Do not use your firstname.lastname email and do not use any college-specific vanity email addresses (i.e. @law.villanova.edu)
  • In the "Moderator Email Address" field, use your UserID@villanova.edu email. This will only be used if you are moderating a Q&A session via Mediasite.

3. After you have made your changes, single-click the blue "Save" button in the top right corner of the webpage to allow your edits to take effect.
