Overview: This document will walk you through the download and installation process of the predictive analysis software JMP Pro 16.

Requirements: PC, Activation Key (provided), internet browser, internet access

Steps:

Navigate to software.villanova.edu

Click on ‘Student Software’.

Expand ‘Student Software for PC’.

Click on the link for ‘JMP 16.’ The software will automatically begin downloading and will likely take several minutes depending on your internet speed.

Once finished downloading, open the Downloads folder in File Explorer to locate the .zip folder, which is labeled with the software name.

Right-click on the folder and select ‘Extract All…’ then click ‘Extract’ to confirm. This should look something like the below image.

The extracted (unzipped) files will be placed in a folder with the same name as the .zip folder.

Once the contents are extracted, navigate to the unzipped folder (this will appear as a normal folder icon without a zipper).

Open the unzipped folder and navigate to the following location: JMP > JMP_Pro > 16_0 > Windows

Then double-click on the Application file called ‘setup’ or ‘setup.exe’

When prompted to allow the app to make changes to your device, click ‘Yes’

The installer will open automatically.

  • Click ‘Next’
  • Ensure the Destination Folder location. Unless you have a particular folder you want to place the file in, keep this set to the default location.
  • Click ‘Next’ again.
  • Check the ‘Excel Add-In’ option and only select ‘SAS software integration’ if you will be connecting to SAS for analysis (you may need to ask your instructor whether this is the case; if unsure, you can check the box).
  • Click ‘Next,’ then click ‘Install’
  • The installation should take about 3-5 minutes.
  • Before ending the installation, check the box to ‘Create desktop shortcut.’ Then click ‘Finish’
  • You may be prompted to restart your computer. If so, select ‘Yes, I want to restart my computer now,’ and then click ‘Finish’

Open the application. You can access the app either through the shortcut created on your Desktop or by looking up ‘JMP 16’ in the Windows search bar.

If prompted, select ‘Wait to Register,’ or click ‘Register’ if you’ve been instructed to create an account.
