Duo: How to Register a Device for Duo Mobile App Push

Overview

The following process outlines how to register a Duo-Push enabled mobile device. 

Requirements

  1. Completion of Duo/MFA enrollment. You are already using other Duo authentication methods today such as Phone Call or SMS. 
  2. A device capable of installing the Duo Mobile app

Instructions

  1. Open a private or Incognito browser, go to https://outlook.villanova.edu or MyNova to initiate the Duo prompt in order to manage your devices.
  2. Once prompted, select Other options to manage options.

     
  3.  Select Manage devices from the list below. 

     
  4. Verify your identity before managing device. Select from the prompts below. 

     
  5. Check for a the selected authentication method (Text message passcode, for example) and Verify.

     
  6. After approving an authentication request, you can see all your registered devices in the device management portal. Select Add a device

     
  7. Select Duo Mobile.

     
  8. Enter your new phone number and select continue. Then verify the number is correct.


     
  9. Confirm by sending a passcode to your device. Enter the passcode and select verify.


     
  10. Ensure the Duo Mobile Application is installed on your new device and select Next.

     
  11. Open the Duo Mobile Application on your phone/tablet then select "+Add" on the right-side of the application. Open the camera and scan the QR Code.

     
  12. Confirm that Duo as been added to your device and select Continue. 

     
  13. Setup is complete. Log in with Duo.
