The “What-If” feature in Degree Works is a helpful tool that allows for the exploration of different majors, minors, or concentrations. It allows you to see how your completed courses would apply to a different degree plan and what additional requirements you would need to fulfill.
Navigate to the “What-If” Section
Click on the “What-If” link, found under the student information block.

In-progress and Pre-registered classes are selected and will be applied to the analysis. If you do not want to include them, you can deselect the check boxes for these options

Use the drop-downs to select the appropriate information for the program and areas of study the student is considering.

If needed, select Additional areas of study to add another major, minor, etc.

Add future classes to see how individual courses might alter the student’s progress in the new major.

Select Process.
The What-If Analysis will appear with the alternative program’s requirements and the student’s progress towards the requirements.
