What's a Mediasite channel and why should I post one?
A Mediasite channel is a landing page that houses a course's complete library of lecture recordings. Posting a Mediasite channel to your course page is the most efficient way to give your students access to your lecture recordings. Channels display all recorded lectures in one convenient location so that instructors are not required to manually post individual links each week.
Mediasite channels will always start with the following: https://vums-web.villanova.edu/Mediasite/Channel/ Any URLs containing "mymediasite" or "sharedfolders" are attached to your personal account and cannot be accessed by students.
Where can I find the link to my Mediasite channel?
- In the recording confirmation email instructors receive from CIT@villanova.edu after opting into Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC).
- MyMediasite: log in and type your course name into the search field in the top right-hand corner of the webpage. Add an asterisk (*) to the end of your search term if you get no results at first. You can also use the filter in the top right of the window (see image below) and set the search type to "Channel" if your search returns multiple pages of content. If you teach multiple courses, you can favorite channels for easy access via your MyMediasite homepage. Where and how do I post the Mediasite channel link to my course page?
Ideally, instructors will post their Mediasite channel link within the left hand navigation menu or another equally prominent place on their course page.
