Mediasite: Sharing classroom lecture recordings with your students

For instructors who want their recordings to become automatically viewable after each class:

If you did not request your recordings to be automatically viewable during the opt-in process, you can still request this setting by filling out this form: Submit Request to Make Lecture Recordings Automatically Available to Students

For instructors who want their recordings to remain private after each class:

If you did not request your recordings to be automatically viewable during the opt-in process, you do not need to take any action. Mediasite recordings are private by default and can only be viewed by you unless you choose to make them public. If you plan to share your recordings eventually, please choose a sharing method below.

Sharing an individual recording:

Sometimes, an instructor may only want to share specific recordings with their class, or only with certain students. In this case, we recommend they copy the link to the particular lecture recording and post it to their course page in that week's module or email it in an announcement to the student(s).

Sharing a full library of recordings (aka "a channel"):

If you plan to share the entire semester's worth of recordings with your students, please post your Mediasite channel link in the left-hand navigation menu of your course page or in another prominent area. Channels allow students to easily access recorded content without requiring instructors to unlock and post individual recordings each week.

To find your Mediasite channel link, open the recording confirmation email you received from CIT@villanova.edu after opting into Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC) (see image below).
