Mediasite: Share a presentation

After you record a Mediasite presentation, you can share the direct link with your audience by emailing it or posting it to an LMS course or a web page.

Most of Villanova's Mediasite recordings are protected by university authentication, which means users must log in using their university username and password to view content.

Step 1 of 3: Set the viewing permissions on your Mediasite presentation

1. Log in to your MyMediasite account with your Villanova credentials: https://vums-web.villanova.edu/mediasite/mymediasite/

2. Select the presentation from your list of available video content by single-clicking on its title.

3. Next, locate the “Who Can View?” slider within the right-hand menu (see image below).

4. Click and hold the slider with your mouse cursor to adjust it to the setting that best suits your specific needs.

Everyone – The presentation can be viewed by anyone inside and outside Villanova who has the link. This setting is generally only used for major University-wide events (i.e., Commencement, Christmas Eve Mass) that draw a large number of viewers from outside the university.
My Organization – [recommended for most University recordings] The presentation can only be viewed by Villanova users who have the link.
Only Shared Users – The presentation can only be viewed by a defined set of Villanova users you must manually invite. To learn how to do this, read our step-by-step guide: 'Mediasite: Share a presentation with specific Villanova users'.
Only Me – The presentation is set to "Private" and can only be viewed by you.

Step 2 of 3: Copy the share link to your Mediasite presentation

1. Log in to your MyMediasite account with your Villanova credentials: https://vums-web.villanova.edu/mediasite/mymediasite/

2. Select the presentation from your list of available video content by single-clicking on its title.

3. Next, click the "Share Presentation" button in the right-hand menu.

4. After the "Share Presentation" pop-up window appears, copy the full “Quick Link” provided at the top (see image below). This direct link to your presentation can be emailed to your audience or posted to a Blackboard course or web page.

Step 3 of 3: Distribute the share link to your audience

Making a presentation viewable doesn't automatically share it with your audience. You must still provide them with the link to your presentation.
