Authenticator is only for use by Alum Account users (@alum.villanova.edu) and privileged account users (@pca.villanova.edu). If your email address ends in @villanova.edu, please follow the 
instructions for Duo.
 
As part of Villanova’s continuing efforts to enhance data protection, the University is requiring multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access critical web-based Villanova resources such as email. Please follow the instructions below to download and enroll in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Download the App
Install the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app, based on your operating system.
Enroll Your Account with Microsoft Authenticator
	- Sign in to the Microsoft security dashboard.
	  
	- Select Add sign-in Method 
	
	
	
	  
	- Select Microsoft Authenticator from the list of options.
	
	
	  
	-  A pop-up will appear prompting you to get the app. Select Next.
	
	  
	- When prompted to set up your account, hit Next again. A QR code will appear.
	
	
	  
	- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device. Select the QR code icon in the lower right-hand of the screen to open up your camera.
	  
	- Scan the QR code and enter the number code from your computer screen into the app.
	If you can't use your camera to scan a QR Code, click Can't scan the image on your PC and tap Enter code manually on your mobile.
	  
	- On your computer, you will see a screen confirming that Microsoft Authenticator was successfully added and is now your default sign-in method. Click Done.
	
	
	
	In the app, you will see your Alum Account or privileged account as options.
