To download and use the Microsoft Authenticator app with your email account, follow the steps below:
Install the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app, based on your operating system:
Google Android. On your Android device, go to Google Play to download and install the Authenticator app.
Apple iOS. On your Apple iOS device, go to the App Store to download and install the Authenticator app.
Sign in to the Microsoft security dashboard.
Select Add a new way to sign in or verify and choose Use an app.
If you’ve already installed the app, select Next to display a QR code appear on the screen.
In the authenticator app, select [three dots] then + Add account.
Choose the account type and select Scan a QR code.
Scan the code shown on the screen in step 4.
Select Finish to complete the setup.
