Mersive Solstice: End of Life

Overview

Mersive Solstice pods, introduced in 2016, are nearing end-of-life. In order to ensure the safety and security of the campus, these devices must be removed from the university network by December 31, 2025.

Alternate Solutions

After partnering with multiple units throughout campus to pilot alternate solutions, UNIT has identified Zoom Rooms as the solution that best meets campus' current and future needs. If you currently have a Mersive Solstice in your area, we have identified 3 pathways for replacement:

  1. Replace Zoom Room for basic screen sharing or advanced web-conferencing needs
  2. Replace with HDMI cable for wired screen share
  3. Remove Mersive if wireless screen share is no longer needed

If you no longer need screen sharing capabilities, please submit a Mersive Solstice Decommissioning Request, and we will plan the decommission with you at your convenience.

If you do need to maintain screen sharing capabilities, please submit a Meeting Space Technology Consultation Request. UNIT will collaborate with you on identifying the right solution and timing for a replacement.
