Blackboard: Copy a Quiz from One Course to Another

Overview

This article provides instructions for copying a quiz from one Blackboard course to another.

Instructions

1. Navigate to Blackboard and log in with single sign-on using your User ID and current password.
2. Click into the course that you want to copy from (such as your course from a previous term).
3. In the left-hand navigation bar in the Course Management's control panel, click on Course Tools.
4. Next, click on Tests, Surveys, and Pools.

5. In the Tests, Surveys and Pools area, click on Tests to see a list of available tests.
6. Hover your cursor over the test that you would like to copy, then click the down arrow/caret to the right of the test name to open the item's menu.
7. From the menu options, click Export to Local Computer. By default, the file will be saved to your Downloads folder in a Zipped format.

8. Confirm that the zipped export appears in your Downloads folder.
9. Exit the source course and enter the target course, or the course where you would like to copy the test to.
10. From within the target course, in the left-hand navigation bar in the Course Management's control panel, click on Course Tools to expand that section.
11. Next, click on Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
12. In the Tests, Surveys and Pools area, click on Tests.
13. In the Tests section, in the top navigation bar, click Import Test.

14. Click Browse Local Files. Browse to and select the zip file that was downloaded in Step 7. Click Open/Upload on the lower right of the pop-up box.
15. With the imported quiz selected, click Submit on the Test Import page on the lower right to complete the process.
16. The Test Import Complete page should state that the import has been completed. Click OK in the lower right corner. You may now deploy the test onto a content page in the course.
