Interactive Pen Displays

Modified on: 8-6-25

Interactive Pen Displays are devices that connect to a computer for on-screen annotation. Currently, Wacom Interactive Pen Displays are installed in some classrooms in Bartley, Driscoll, Drosdick, Garey, Mendel, Tolentine, Vasey, and the Charles Widger School of Law. Classrooms without permanent displays can use 16” mobile units available from Classroom Technologies.

You can check the Classroom Overview article to see if your classroom has an Interactive Pen Display. To request one for your classroom, please submit a ticket. If your classroom already has a display, select “Interactive Pen Display (Installed)" under the Classroom Technology Services dropdown menu. If not, choose "Interactive Pen Display (Mobile)." You can also request a display by calling the Classroom Support Hotline at 610-519-7777, option 1.

For training on using an Interactive Pen Display, contact richard.forcey@villanova.edu in University Technology Services Multimedia Technologies.

Annotation Tip

Did you know many computers and mobile devices have built-in annotation features? If you use a "bring your own device" (BYOD), you can use this feature instead of an interactive pen display. Some popular devices with this technology include:

Windows laptops with built-in stylus, Microsoft Surface, iPads with stylus, and various Android tablets with stylus. You may need to install annotation apps on iPads and Android tablets. There are free and paid apps available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
