Classroom Technology

Classroom Technologies designs, supports, and maintains AV systems in all registrar scheduled general-purpose classrooms. We also provide second line support and Meeting Space Technology Consultation services for college and department-scheduled classrooms, labs, meeting rooms, and other technology-enabled spaces on campus.

Onsite classroom support hours are Monday-Thursday 7AM-7PM and Friday 7AM-5PM. After-hours and weekend classroom support is by phone only.

If you need assistance with classroom technology during class, please call Technology Services at 610-519-7777 and select option 1 for the Classroom Support Hotline. We can often resolve issues by phone, or a technician will be dispatched to provide immediate assistance.

Services Available

Classroom AV Assistance/Training

Perhaps you’re new to the university or have been scheduled in a different classroom. Do you have questions about using technology in the classroom? Do you need AV support during class? Would you like to make an appointment with a technician? We can help! We can meet with you one-on-one or in groups to provide training that will allow you to meet your goals in the classroom. Interactive Pen Display

Wacom interactive pen displays are annotation devices that connect with the user’s computer and allow for on screen annotation. Currently, interactive pen displays are permanently installed in some classrooms in Bartley, Driscoll, Drosdick, Garey, Mendel, Tolentine, Vasey, and The Charles Widger School of Law. Classrooms without permanent interactive pen displays can be accommodated with mobile units. To see if your classroom has an interactive pen display, visit our Classroom Overview article. Document Camera

Document cameras are devices that can project and magnify images of objects, paper notes, and transparencies. They replace transparency/overhead projectors and connect to the classroom AV system to utilize the classroom projector/display. To request this service, submit a request for Document Camera (Mobile).

Multi-region Blu-ray/DVD Player - HDMI or USB

Multi-region DVD players are set to region 0 and able to play DVD discs purchased anywhere worldwide, giving you total flexibility on what discs you can play. Our Multi-region DVD players also support Blu-ray discs and are offered in two configurations:

  • HDMI - Standalone player that connects to the classroom HDMI cable
  • USB - Player that connects to a computer USB port and supports playback within Zoom

Panel Microphones (must be reserved 3 business days in advance)

Handheld Panel Microphones with Tabletop Stands

Wired handheld microphones with tabletop stands are available for your next panel discussion in Driscoll Hall Lecture 132 and Driscoll Hall Auditorium 134 only. The microphones tie directly into the room's AV system speakers, hybrid, and lectern capture technology. Each room also features 1 wired lectern microphone, 2 wireless handheld microphones, and 2 wireless lapel microphones. All of the microphones will be available for simultaneous use. If tables and chairs are needed for your panel, contact Facilities at (610) 519-4420 or use their online service request form. Panel microphones are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and must be reserved 3 business days in advance.

To request this service, submit a request for Handheld Panel Microphones with Tabletop Stands. Please indicate how many microphones you would like in the Description field. Up to 5 panel microphones are available.
