Blackboard: Blogs

Overview

Blog is short for web log and is a communication tool used for writing about experiences, observations, and thoughts on particular topics. Blogs may be done individually or in groups.

Getting Started

Why faculty use Blogs

Blogs promote critical thinking and writing skills. They allow for the continuation of discussions outside the walls of the classroom and are an easy-to-use collaboration tool. Students can blog on virtually any topic, from the latest class readings to their experience in a clinical setting, student teaching, or studying abroad. Blogs work well as a means of student participation, especially in totally online courses.
