Overview
This article will provide instructions on how to send an email from the Brightspace LMS.
Instructions
- In the blue Course Navigation bar, select Classlist. Note: You may need to select the option More first in order to see the option for your Classlist.

- If you would like to email the entire class, select the gray button Email Classlist.

- From the Email Classlist screen, you can select whether to email everyone in the class (including TAs, co-instructors, etc.) or just the students by clicking on the appropriate tab at the top of the screen. The recipients of the intended message will populate based on your selection.

- Click the blue button Send Email at the bottom of the page to compose your message.
- Once you have composed your message, click the blue button Send for your email to be delivered.
- If you would like to select the users who will receive your email, check the boxes to the left of the user's Image and Name.
- You can filter the users to just students by clicking on the tab Students, then checking the boxes of the intended recipients.

- If you have groups set up in your course, you can also filter by groups by selecting from the drop down menu View By, choosing Groups, then selecting Apply.

- A new drop down menu will appear, allowing you to select which group you would like to email. Once you have chosen your group, select Apply again.

- Once you have selected your recipients, click on the Email icon to compose your message.

- Once you have composed your message, click the blue button Send for your email to be delivered.
