Overview
Document cameras allow you to show documents, textbooks, student work, specimens, and 3D objects to the whole class using a projector or display system. To display the document camera’s image, connect it using the HDMI cable marked orange in the classroom. If you want to connect a BYOD laptop to the AV system with the HDMI cable, the document camera has an HDMI passthrough to switch between sources. In Tier 3 classrooms, you can send the document camera image to one display while showing your laptop image on other displays.
A USB connection is available to use the document camera's software on your laptop, which requires software installation.
Currently, document cameras are permanently installed in Driscoll Hall rooms 132, 134, 240, and 244. Mobile document cameras can be reserved for other classrooms for single classes or full semesters, but you must book them 3 business days in advance. To request a document camera for your classroom, please submit a ticket and choose “Document Camera (Mobile)" from the Classroom Technology Services dropdown menu. You can also call the Classroom Support Hotline at 610-519-7777, option 1.
