Faculty and Staff Printing: Install/Add a Network Printer (MacOS)

Overview

This article will cover how to add a Villanova network-connected printer to your Villanova-issued MacOS device.

Requirements

Your Villanova-issued MacOS device, an on-campus internet connection OR an at-home internet connection using Global Protect, and the VU tag of the printer being added. 

Instructions

  1. Press the command key and the space bar at the same time. A search bar should pop up. Enter "Settings" and open the Settings app.
  2. In the Settings app, type "printers & scanners" into the search bar.

  1. Then, click on "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax..."

  1. In the new window that opens, click on the middle tab labeled "IP" with the globe symbol.
  2. In the "Address" box, enter the VU tag number listed on the printer. The remainder of the text boxes should auto-populate.
  3. Click "Add" to complete printer setup.
