Academic Application: Cengage MindLinks

Cengage is a higher education publisher offering a suite of digital learning tools, including MindTap (Cengage’s flagship online learning platform), WebAssign (for STEM courses), and Cengage Unlimited (an all-access subscription to Cengage digital content).

MindLinks (also referred to as Cengage LMS Integration) is the method by which Cengage courses connect to Brightspace. Through MindLinks, faculty set up their Cengage/MindTap course and link it into the LMS so students can access all eTextbook content, assignments, and quizzes without leaving the LMS. Grades sync automatically to the LMS gradebook.

Faculty: Create a MindTap or Cengage course, customize the learning path and assignments, and link it to your Brightspace course. Grades pass back automatically.

Students: Access the Cengage eTextbook, complete assignments and auto-graded homework, and take quizzes through the LMS course link. A Cengage account or Cengage Unlimited subscription is required.

Access Cengage MindTap via the Cengage/MindLinks link in your Brightspace course. Faculty first set up the course at cengage.com and then linked it to the LMS.

Cengage requires a separate Cengage account (cengage.com). Students authenticate using their Cengage credentials after clicking the LMS course link. Faculty must also create or sign in to a Cengage instructor account.

Available for courses where faculty have adopted a Cengage product. The LMS integration must be configured by the instructor before students can access content.
