Brightspace Integrations (LTIs)

Important Notice: LTI Requests During LMS Transition

As part of the University’s transition to Brightspace and the planned decommissioning of Blackboard, new LTI requests submitted after July 1, 2026, may not be reviewed or implemented in time for Fall  2026.

Requests will continue to be accepted so that needs can be reviewed and tracked; however, new integrations may be deferred until after the primary transition period is complete in July 2026. Please note: If you are working with a new vendor to the University, please include sufficient time for additional University reviews and approval (e.g., General Counsel). Special accommodation may be considered for essential publisher or bookstore‑managed course materials.

Description

Brightspace integrates with a wide range of third-party tools so you can use publisher content, video, polling, discussion platforms, and more without leaving your course. These integrations let students launch tools with a single click using their Villanova credentials and, in many cases, automatically flow grades and activity data back into Brightspace, reducing manual setup for faculty and giving students a single, consistent place to find their coursework. Most of these integrations use the LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) standard, which allows Brightspace and the external tool to securely share authentication and course information.

For the full list of available integrations and detailed information and requirements, see the Brightspace Integrations and Connected Tools (LTIs) knowledge base article
