Description
Villanova University supports a variety of learning technologies that complement and integrate with Brightspace, providing additional options for collaboration, communication, interactive learning, and assessment.
University Technology Services (UTS) provides training and assistance for the following learning technologies:
- VoiceThread - An interactive discussion tool that allows students and instructors to participate in asynchronous discussions using video, audio, screen capture, images, and screen annotation. VoiceThread is available through Brightspace courses.
- Yellowdig - A social learning community that allows faculty and students to share items of interest, assess participation, and encourage class discussion within a private course community. Yellowdig is available through Brightspace courses.
- Respondus LockDown Browser - A custom browser that locks down the testing environment while a student completes a Brightspace exam.
- Respondus Monitor - An asynchronous proctoring tool that works with Respondus LockDown Browser and Brightspace exams. It uses the student's webcam and microphone, along with analytics, to help deter cheating during non-proctored exams.
- Respondus 4.0 - A quiz-authoring tool that helps faculty convert exams from Word documents and publish them directly to Brightspace.
- Poll Everywhere - A student response system that allows instructors to use polls and other interactive activities to encourage student participation and gather responses.
- Turnitin QuickSubmit - Allows faculty and staff to manually submit student work to Turnitin for plagiarism and AI-use review outside of a Brightspace Assignment in a Brightspace course.

This service is available to Villanova University faculty, staff, and others who have instructor-level access to a Brightspace course.
Requirements
Access requirements vary by learning technology. Some tools require instructor-level access to a Brightspace course, while others may require account registration or activation.
