Emails with the [EXTERNAL] tag coming from a professor’s Villanova email are NOT legitimate. Give them a call or stop by their office to confirm. Better safe than sorry!

Is the sender asking for alternative communication methods or personal information?
Go slow, be suspicious, and verify messages.
Report it immediately.
If you receive an email you are unsure of, it's always better to be safe than sorry. Refrain from forwarding the email.
