Mediasite: Make my presentation viewable

Understanding Mediasite viewing permissions

Before sharing a Mediasite presentation, there is a simple question that needs asking and answering: who can view my presentation? Who your audience is, and what content you're sharing with them, will help inform which of the following settings you should apply to your presentation:

  • Everyone – The presentation can be viewed by anyone, both inside and outside the Villanova community, who has the link.
  • My Organization [recommended for most University recordings] The presentation can only be viewed by Villanova users who have the link.
  • Only Shared Users – The presentation can only be viewed by a defined set of users you manually invite by email address or name by clicking the "Share Presentation" button. To learn more, read our step-by-step guide: 'Mediasite: Share a presentation with specific Villanova users'.
  • Only Me – The presentation is set to "Private" and can only be viewed by you.

 

Adjusting your presentation's viewing permissions

1. Open a new internet browser window and lnavigate to Villanova's MyMediasite portal: https://vums-web.villanova.edu/mediasite/mymediasite/

2. Login to your MyMediasite account via Villanova's single sign-on by entering your Villanova email and current password.

3. From your list of available presentations, select the one you would like to share by single-clicking on its title.

4. Next, locate the “Who Can View?” slider within the right hand navigation bar (see image above).

5. Click and hold the slider with your mouse cursor to move the slider to the setting that will best fit your specific needs.
