Mediasite: Sharing classroom lecture recordings with your students

Overview

After instructors have opted into Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC) for their course, they must complete the following steps:

  1. Set the permissions for their lecture recordings
  2. Choose a distribution method that best meets their students' needs and aligns with how they wish to use the recorded content in their course.

IMPORTANT: Instructors must provide students with a link to their lecture recordings on the course page; merely unlocking the content does not make it accessible.

Known Issues & Troubleshooting

  • My channel is empty: Are your lecture recordings still set to Private? Private recordings will not appear on a channel.
  • My student is getting an error message when they access my content: Sometimes, passing from Brightspace into Mediasite can cause your Mediasite account to be signed out. If the student copies the channel link, pastes it into a new internet browser tab, and clicks "Enter", they should be redirected through Villanova's single sign-on and have access to view the
  • My Channel order (Newest to Oldest): By default, channels arrange recordings from Most Recent to Oldest. If preferred, this order can be changed by request to either "A to Z" or "Oldest to Newest".
