Brightspace: Add a Rubric to an Existing Activity

Overview

This article explains how to add a rubric to an existing Brightspace activity.

Instructions

Navigate to the Activity

  • Access the existing activity in your course to which you want to add a rubric. This can be an assignment submission folder, learning objective, quiz, survey, or discussion topic.

Edit the Activity

  • For this example, we will add a rubric to an existing discussion topic.
  • Navigate to the discussion topic you want to add the rubric to and click its context menu (three dots or dropdown menu).
  • Select "Edit Topic."

Open the Assessment Tab

  • Click on the "Assessment" tab within the topic settings.

Add the Rubric

  • Click "Add Rubric" to attach an existing rubric to the activity.
  • If you don't have a rubric created yet, click "Create Rubric in New Window" to create one, then add it to the activity.

Select and Add the Rubric

  • Select the rubric you want to use from the list.
  • Click "Add Selected" to attach the chosen rubric to the activity.

Save Changes

  • The rubric will now be displayed in the Rubric section of the assessment tab.
  • When you are ready, click "Save and Close" to finalize adding the rubric to the activity.
