Brightspace: How to add a weblink

Overview

This article will cover how to add weblinks to your Brightspace course.

Instructions

Before adding a weblink to Brightspace, you must first create a Unit. For details on how to create a unit/module, please click here.

Then, you can add the weblink within a Unit/Module/Folder or add a weblink on Page.

Adding a weblink within a Unit/Module/Folder
  1. Select the Unit/Module/Folder where you would like to add content.
  2. Click the Create New button at the top of the screen.


     
  3. Click Weblink.


     
  4. Enter "Web link" title and enter the weblink in the "External Link" field.  Then, click "Save and Close".  The weblink will be added to Unit/Module/Folder that you selected.

Adding a weblink to a Page

Before adding a weblink to a page within Brightspace, you must first create a Page. For details on how to create a page, please click here.

  1. Select the Page where you would like to add content.
  2. Click on the three dots icon.  Click Edit.

  3. In the "Page Content" section, click on the "Quicklink" button on the formatting toolbar.  Then, click Link.

  4. In the "Link" field, enter the weblink.  In the "Text" field, enter how you want weblink to appear on the page.  Click Insert.

  5. Click "Save and Close".  The weblink will be added to the Page that you selected.
