Overview
This article explains how to create a quiz that draws from a randomized set of questions.
Instructions
Ensure Question Pool Availability
- Make sure there is a section in the Question Library that contains the question pool from which you want the random questions to be drawn.
Create a New Quiz
- Click on "New Quiz" in your course.
- Enter a name for your quiz, such as "Cumulative Final Exam."
Add/Edit Questions
- Click on "Add/Edit Questions."
- Click "New" and select "Question Pool."
Configure the Question Pool
- Enter a title for your question pool.
- Specify the number of questions to select from the pool that each learner will see in their quiz. For example, set it to 15 questions.
- Enter the number of points each question is worth. In this example, each question is worth 1 point. Note that all questions within a question pool are assigned the same point value.
Browse and Add Questions
- Click "Browse Question Library."
- Use the search, filter, and sort options to find your questions. For this example, select all the questions.
- Click "Add" to include these questions in the question pool.
Review and Save Questions
- Review the questions you have added to the question pool.
- Click "Save" to add the selected questions to your quiz.
- Click "Done Editing Questions" to return to the quiz settings.
Tailor Quiz Settings
- In the "Quiz Questions" section, define the number of questions that appear on each page. For example, set it to 5 questions per page.
- Click "Apply" to save this setting.
Set Navigation Rules
- Optionally, set whether users can move forwards and backwards through the pages of the quiz.
- Click "Prevent Moving Backwards Through Pages" if you want to disallow users from revisiting completed questions.
Save and Close
- Click "Save & Close" to finalize the creation of the quiz.
