Website Authoring Tool Access

Description

AEM is the university-wide content management system used for the main Villanova websites included within the www1.villanova.edu domain.

Individuals may gain access to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) by successfully completing two required trainings. Once they have completed the trainings, their supervisor can request that access be enabled.

Requirements for Training

Step 1: Individuals can begin by requesting access to the AEM Author Resources site in Teams. The Teams site gives individuals access to AEM resources that will assist during the training program and provide additional resources that build on the trainings and strengthen AEM knowledge. These resources will be there for future reference whenever a refresher is needed.

Step 2: Individuals can navigate to the appropriate link below to self-enroll and complete the trainings:

FULL-TIME STAFF TRAINING

GRAD STUDENT/NON-STAFF TRAINING (student interns, temporary employees). Note: You will need to create an account and password separate from your Villanova credentials.

Information Needed to Request Access

Step 3: When the individual/trainee has completed the required trainings, a supervisor who is authorizing the individual's access can submit a Request for Access to the Web Services group to have the appropriate access enabled.

The Web Services team needs the following information to appropriately enable permissions:

  • Individual's full name
  • Individual's email
  • Individual's VUID
  • Website directory to which they need access (ie., /content/villanova/sitename)
  • Level of access needed: Editor or Publisher (Editors can edit but must submit to an approver to get their changes live; Publishers can edit and submit their own changes live).

Eligibility

This service is available to Faculty, Staff, and Students using AEM. Before any user gains access to AEM, they must take two required trainings found in Learn@NOVA. Once the request for access is made, the individual needing access will receive a URL for the training program that will include AEM Training Overview and Web Content Authoring for Accessibility.
