Description
Cognos Analytics is a business intelligence solution for enterprise reporting. It enables users to write, schedule, run and view reports which use the Operational Data Store (ODS) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) as its main sources of data.
Requests for access to Cognos must be made by a supervisor and must include the following information for the individual needing the access:
- Name
- Email
- VU ID (i.e., jdoe, jdoe01)
- Status (Staff or Student)
- Area(s) to which they need access, e.g., Account Receivables, Advancement, HR, Finance etc.)
- Type of Access Needed (Admins - who can manage local area; Authors - who can create, edit, and distribute reports to other users; Consumers - who can only view and/or run existing reports)
Eligibility
This service is available to Faculty and Staff using Cognos. Before any user start using Cognos, the user should go through the training documentation located in the lower left of the navigation bar after login.
