Brightspace Course Availability

Credit Courses (e.g. Undergraduate, Graduate, and Law)

  • Live Course shells for upcoming terms are created in Brightspace based on the course creation and student registration through the Office of the Registrar.
  • When faculty can expect to see your course in Brightspace
    • Summer - Second Week of March
    • Fall - First week of April
    • Spring - Courses & Faculty - Second week of October
  • Student Enrollments into your live Brightspace Course Shells start after each term’s registration period (see schedule above).
  • If faculty want to begin building their course earlier (prior to when live Brightspace Courses become available to faculty), then faculty can create sandbox course(s) and build within that sandbox course (Instructions - How to Create a Brightspace Sandbox).  Once the Fall/Spring/Summer live course shell becomes available in Brightspace, faculty can copy the sandbox course into that Fall/Spring/Summer live course shell (Instructions - How Copy Course Content in Brightspace - Text Instructions, Video Instructions).

Non-Credit Courses (e.g. College of Professional Studies)

  • Live Course Shells for Non-Credit Courses become available to faculty closer official course start date, typically eleven (11) days before the course start date.
  • Student Enrollments into the Non‑credit courses typically start eleven (11) days before their course start date.
