Approval Workflow: The configured process that routes scheduling changes through designated approvers before changes are finalized. 

Attribute Scheduler: A user responsible for scheduling and maintaining courses associated with specific attributes, programs, or institutional requirements. 

Conflict Detection: A Coursedog feature that identifies potential scheduling conflicts, such as instructor overlaps, room conflicts, or meeting pattern issues. 

Dean Approval: A workflow step in which designated dean’s office personnel review and approve schedule submissions before publication. 

Meeting Pattern: The combination of days, times, and instructional duration assigned to a course section. 

Merge Settings: Configuration settings that determine how scheduling data is synchronized between Coursedog and Banner. 

Phase: A defined period in the scheduling lifecycle that controls user permissions, available actions, workflows, and Banner integration behavior. 

Registrar Validation Review: The process in which Academic Scheduling validates meeting patterns, room assignments, instructional compliance, and data integrity before publication. 

Role-Based Permissions: Security settings that determine what users can view, edit, approve, or submit within the platform. 

Section Request: A workflow-generated request used when schedule modifications can no longer be made directly by department users.
