AEM: Requesting Permissions for AEM

Individuals may gain access to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) after successfully completing two required trainings. To complete the onboarding process as quickly as possible, users requiring access are encouraged to follow the detailed steps below. Once both trainings have been completed, a supervisor will need to request that the user's access be enabled.

Requirements for Training

Step 1: Individuals can begin the process by requesting access to the AEM Author Resources site in Teams. The Teams site provides users with access to AEM resources which will assist them in completing the onboarding training program, build on those trainings, and strengthen their AEM knowledge. Users will have continued access to these resources and may revisit them at any point in the future.

Step 2: Individuals can navigate to the appropriate link below to self-enroll and complete the trainings:

FULL-TIME STAFF TRAINING

GRAD STUDENT/NON-STAFF TRAINING (student interns, temporary employees). Note: You will need to create an account and password separate from your Villanova credentials.

Information Needed to Request Access

Step 3: When the individual/trainee has completed the required trainings, a supervisor must authorize their access request by submitting a Request for Access to the Web Services group.  Once authorization is received, the appropriate access can be enabled.

The Web Services team needs the following information to appropriately enable permissions:

  • Individual's full name
  • Individual's email
  • Individual's VUID
  • Individual's status (Whether they are staff, student, temporary employee)
  • Website directory the individual needs to access (ie., /content/villanova/sitename)
  • Level of access needed: Editor or Publisher (Editors can make changes and update content, but those edits must be approved by another user before they go live; Publishers can edit and submit their own changes live).
