Brightspace: How to Respond to a Discussion Post (Students)

Overview

This article covers how a student can respond to a discussion post in Brightspace.

Instructions

1. First, navigate to the course where you wish to create a discussion post.
2. From the top navigation bar, click Discussions.

3. There will be a list of discussions organized by forum topics. Click the link to the discussion topic that you wish to respond to.
4. Click on the title of the thread that you wish to respond to.
5. Click the blue button Reply to Thread.

6. Enter a subject and your post information. Some important settings to note are:

• To receive updates on the thread using your selected notification method, select Subscribe to this thread.
• To attach a file, from the Attachments area, click Browse to locate the file that you want to attach.
• You can record Audio or Video for your post by clicking the Record dropdown menu in the Attachments area.

7. Click Post to publish.
8. If you need to edit or delete your post, click the caret next to the title of your post, and select either Edit Thread or Delete Thread.
