Brightspace: Create, Edit, or Delete or Respond to a Discussion Post (Students)

This article details how to create, edit, delete, or respond to a discussion post in Brightspace. 

 

How to Create, Edit, or Delete a Discussion Post

  1. Navigate to the course where you want to create a discussion post.
  2. From the blue course navigation bar, click Discussions.

  3. Click the discussion topic where you want to post.
  4. Click the blue button Start a New Thread.

  5. Enter a subject and your post information.
  • To receive updates, select Subscribe to this thread.
  • To attach a file, click Browse in the Attachments area.
  • You can record audio or video using the Record dropdown in the Attachments area.
  1. Click Post to publish.
  2. To edit or delete your post, click the caret next to the post title and choose Edit Thread or Delete Thread.

How to Respond to a Discussion Post

 

  1. Navigate to the course where you want to respond to a post.
  2. From the blue course navigation bar, click Discussions.

  3. Select the thread you want to reply to.
  4. Click the blue button Reply to Thread.

  5. Enter a subject and your post information.
  • To receive updates, select Subscribe to this thread.
  • To attach a file, click Browse in the Attachments area.
  • You can record audio or video using the Record dropdown in the Attachments area.
  1. Click Post to publish.
  2. To edit or delete your reply, click the caret next to the post title and choose Edit Thread or Delete Thread.
