Departmental Computer Purchasing

Description

Villanova departments are able to make computer purchases, outside of the PC Refresh Program, through Villanova-approved channels. Villanova has selected Dell and Apple as our preferred computer manufacturers.

Dell

Dell computers can be purchased via the Dell punchout in NovaBuy. Standard pre-configured models are available for purchase. If one of these pre-configured models meet your requirements, a consultation with Technology Services is not needed. 

Apple

Apple computers can be purchased via the GovConnection (Connection) punchout in NovaBuy. 

Microsoft

Microsoft Surface devices can be purchased via the GovConnection (Connection) punchout in NovaBuy.

Purchasing Consultation

In the event that you have needs that are not met via Dell and GovConnect, you can request a consultation with Technology Services. Technology Services will work with you to develop a quote that meets your requirements. 

Non-Standard Computer Purchase Exception 

In the event that you have needs that cannot be met via University preferred channels and vendors, you can submit a non-standard computer purchase exception request. Technology Services will will review your request and work with the Office of Procurement to ensure your purchasing requirement is met.

Requirements 

  • All departmental purchases must meet the requirements outlined in our Windows and macOS Computer Standards. 
  • Computers are to be purchased via approved channels only (NovaBuy). Computer purchases are not to be made via a P-Card. 

Cost

Cost for departmental computer purchases will vary. There is no cost for a departmental purchase consultation with Technology Services.
