August 2026 Update
August 20 Enhancements
Beginning August 20, the new Etrieve document viewer will be available within the New Content Experience. Users who access Etrieve through the"Try New Content" option will be able to complete document viewing and management tasks without returning to the legacy viewer. Available capabilities include:
- Viewing and editing documents
- Annotations and redactions
- Image cleanup
- Editing key fields
- Sharing documents
- Viewing related documents
- Uploading and filing documents directly within the new experience
Upcoming Webinar: August 25
Softdocs will host a Summer 2026 Product Release Review webinar on August 25, highlighting the New Content Experience, recent enhancements, and upcoming roadmap items. Interested users may register directly with Softdocs.
October 2026 Full Transition
The full transition to the New Content Experience is currently planned for October 2026. Once the final cutover date is confirmed by Softdocs, Technology Services will update this article and communicate next steps to the Villanova community.
Etrieve Central Redesign – Coming January 1, 2026
