Mediasite: Update your Mediasite user profile settings

Overview

This article provides a guide to making changes to your Mediasite account through MyMediasite, including your notification settings, display name, font, and presenter info.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a current Villanova student, faculty, or staff member with a valid Villanova University-issued email address and a Mediasite account. To learn more about how to create a Mediasite account, please refer to "Mediasite: Create your account".

Instructions

1. Open a new internet browser window and navigate to the MyMediasite portal: https://vums-web.villanova.edu/mediasite/mymediasite/

2. Log in through Villanova's single sign-on by entering your current Villanova email address and password.

3. Single-click on the teal square with your initials in the top-right corner of the window, and select “My Settings” from the drop-down menu that appears.

4. To make changes, use the left-hand menu (see image below) to navigate to the desired settings area. After making your edits, click the blue "Save" button in the top-right corner of the page to apply your changes. Here is a breakdown of each setting and what it includes:

  • Profile: Update your display name, email address, or time zone. You can also change the Mediasite system font to Dyslexie.
  • Notifications: Select which presentation and moderation notification emails you receive, such as "Captioning is complete", "Comment posted", etc. All email notifications are on by default.
  • Presenter Info: (if applicable to your content) Enter information about yourself (e.g., name, email, website) as you would like it to appear to viewers when you are a presentation’s primary presenter. The default presenter for most classroom recordings is set to Villanova University.
  • Publishing: Change the default visibility of your Mediasite Capture recordings and uploaded video content from Private to Viewable. If a presentation is made Viewable, any Villanova user with the link can access it. Be aware: making content Viewable by default prevents you from making further adjustments before the presentation is available for public viewing.
