WeVideo: Add WeVideo Content to Brightspace

Overview

This article explains how to add a preexisting WeVideo interactive assessment to your Brightspace course page. Assessment with graded interactions will automatically generate a gradebook column after the first student response has been received.

Requirements

  • Please see the device requirements listed in our knowledge article, "WeVideo: Overview"
  • You must have an active Brightspace account
  • You must have an active WeVideo account with content created and available to use
  • If prompted, please have your mobile device handy for a Duo push notification during Villanova single sign-on. For more details, please refer to "Duo: Getting Started".

Instructions

1. Log in to your Brightspace account with your Villanova credentials: https://brightspace.villanova.edu/d2l/login

2. Navigate to your course and click on the Content tab.

3. Open an existing unit or page (or create a new one), then click the Add Existing button.

4. On the "What would you like to add"? page, select More.

5. Scroll to the Third Party section and select WeVideo Interactivity.

7. When the Set Content Link pop-up window appears, click Set Link.

8. From your list of existing Interactive Videos, single-click the D2L logo in the "Platform" column next to your video, then click "Link" from the drop-down menu.

9. Select the Learner Experience based on the needs of your course: do you want students to view the video asynchronously on their own (Self Paced), or together during a live class session (Live Broadcast)?

10. Click the Set Link button in the top right corner of the pop-up video. You will see a notification indicating that the content was linked successfully.

11. Refresh your browser and you will see the Interactive Video added to the course content as an external link.

Known Issues & Troubleshooting

Where's the gradebook column for my WeVideo video assessment? A gradebook column will be generated after the first student submits a response.

WeVideo Technical Requirements: As WeVideo is completely cloud-based, ensure your internet browser is updated before creating or viewing any content on WeVideo. Additionally, ensure your device meets the requirements listed in our knowledge article, "WeVideo: Overview"

Correct Mediasite Viewing Permissions Set: If the content isn't open to My Organization or Everyone, it will not be accessible via WeVideo.

I can't see my Mediasite presentation(s): If you do not own the presentation(s), you will not be able to see them until you're made an authorized Shared User. For assistance setting this up, please submit an "Other (create a folder, add shared users)" request here: Submit Mediasite Request.
