Ask questions, draft and revise writing, and analyze documents in a conversation with Claude. Upload large files, such as reports, policies, transcripts, or spreadsheets, and ask Claude to summarize, compare, or pull out key details (see Requirements section for permitted data classification). Use Projects to keep related chats, files, and instructions together in one workspace that you can share with colleagues.

Cowork lets you assign Claude a task instead of just asking a question. Describe the result you want, such as “compare these five vendor proposals” or “build a status update from this week’s notes,” and Claude plans the steps, works through your files and connected apps, and delivers a finished document, spreadsheet, or presentation. No coding is required. Cowork asks for your permission before permanently deleting any files, and you choose how often Claude checks in with you before acting.

Skills are reusable sets of instructions that teach Claude how to do a specific kind of work well, such as creating a document in an approved template or following a team checklist. Claude automatically uses the right skill for your task.

Claude Code is an AI coding assistant for developers, researchers, and technical staff. Claude Code can read your project, write and edit code, run commands, fix bugs, and explain unfamiliar code. Use it from the command line, in the Claude desktop app, or in editors such as VS Code and JetBrains.
