Description
TechExpress is a self-service battery kiosk that lets you borrow a fully charged portable battery whenever your phone, tablet, or laptop is running low. Just tap your Wildcard at the kiosk, take a battery, and keep working without searching for an outlet. When you're done, return the battery to any TechExpress kiosk so it can recharge for the next person.
TechExpress kiosks are currently located in the Falvey Library at Vic Maggitti Hall:
- First floor: at the TechZone
- Third floor
Keep your Wildcard with you. You need it to check out a battery, and the battery is linked to your account until you return it.

Current Villanova University students.

A valid Villanova Wildcard. No registration or sign-up is needed.

Service Levels
TechExpress kiosks are available whenever the Falvey Library at Vic Magitti Hall is open. If a kiosk isn't working, a battery won't charge your device, or you have trouble returning a battery, visit the TechZone or report a TechExpress issue.
Borrowers must read and accept these terms at the kiosk each time they borrow a battery.
Eligibility
- Borrowers must have a valid Villanova Wildcard and be an active Villanova student.
Terms of Use
- Batteries are loaned for a four-hour period and must be returned to a TechExpress kiosk within four hours. If you need more time, you may borrow another battery if one is available.
- You may borrow only one battery at a time.
Liability
- The borrower is responsible for all costs associated with damaged or lost batteries due to neglect or misuse.
- University Technology Services (UTS) is not responsible for damage to personal devices charged with a TechExpress battery.
- Borrowers should use the battery in a responsible and courteous manner, consistent with the purpose for which it is provided.
Proper Care and Use
- Handle the battery with care. Do not drop it, expose it to liquids, or leave it in extreme heat or cold.
- Batteries do not include charging cables. Borrowers must supply their own cable.
- Do not open, modify, or tamper with the battery.
- Batteries may not be used for illegal or unsafe purposes.
- Do not lend the battery to anyone else. You are responsible for returning it on time.
- If the battery becomes hot, swollen, or damaged, stop using it immediately and return it to a kiosk or contact UTS.
Violations of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of TechExpress borrowing privileges.
Late Fees
$1 per hour, up to a maximum of $200.
